Chapters seven - Eight

Well, chapter seven was definitely one of the best that I have written so far. It is the one chapter that has the most amount of Devlynn in it. Now I will give you a brief overview of what happens in the chapter.

At the start of the chapter Claire goes to school only to find that Rachel is running away from Aaron and wants Claire to help hide her. Claire takes Rachel to the girls bathroom, because that is the one place where a boy is least likely to enter (According to Primary School experience anyway).

After this is over and the bell has rung, Claire runs into Devlynn. Devlynn basically tells her that she should wag with him instead of going to class for the day. Of course considering the fact that Devlynn is incredibly good looking Claire agrees, plus she always finds it hard to not want to do anything he says, as she feels 'The pull' as described in the book. Then she settles on a walk through the bush on the other side of the school leading out to a lake which is across from the local golf course.

Nothing major really happens, but we realise just how much Claire is attracted to Devlynn, and they get a little closer. She even calls him 'Imperfectly perfect' by accident, which happens to be one of my fave moments in the whole chapter.

This chapter is a necessary even if it seems like it's just Claire drooling over Devlynn. In actual fact it's all about setting up the relationship between Claire and Devlynn. Obviously it has to happen at some point, she has to get to know him, well in a whatever he wants her to think kind of way. It is one of my faves just because I love the way Claire thinks when she's with him, it's so teenage girl that it makes me laugh.

Now onto chapter Eight, which I am in the process of writing as I type this lol.

Chapter eighth is where we find out that there is another dead body, and Claire has to tell her friends all about what happened the day before with Devlynn and why she skipped school.

All of this leads to Meaghan becoming suspicious about Devlynn. She tells Claire that she thinks it's odd for him to be the last person to have been with Hannah, and just the fact that she doesn't seem to fall for his good looks like most other girls.

Clare's reaction of course is to dismiss the whole thing as nothing important, like Meaghan is just imagining it happening. And Rachel seems to agree with Claire as well. Her thoughts being around the fact that Devlynn hasn't done anything to make it seem like he would ever do something suspicious or bad.

That's all I have planned for it, but by the time I'm finished writing it might be completely different, we'll see.

So that is what is going on with the Victory series so far. And I think it's progressing at a pace that I am happy with. Hope you will all tune in when I reveal my plans for chapter nine.

Chapter Six, November 24

Now here I am up to talking about chapter six, and I can't even remember if I wrote about chapter five before it. Oh, well that doesn't matter I'll just get straight into it.

At the start of the chapter we find out that the bodies of the two missing girls, Hannah and Holly (And no the H thing is not intentional.) have been found. Claire like most everyone else who hears the news is pretty upset, and a little shaken by the fact that it had to have been murder.

She goes to school anyway and basically that whole section is about how much it has affected the entire school.

After she gets home from school, she finds out that her sister has someone found out about her and Brent, and tells their mother. This results in talk between Claire and her mother, and we kind of get the idea that Claire doesn't really like to talk to her mother about stuff. She's pretty much in this is private for me, why would me sister tell kind of mind set.

Next day at school, and things aren't quite as dismal as the day before, but a lot of people are still upset. Obviously they wont get over it in one day. Nothing really happens until she gets home, at which point Claire discovers emails on her computer from the dead girl Hannah. It completely freaks her out to the point where she jumps away from the computer. When she turns back however, the emails are gone, leaving Claire to think that it was all in her mind.

That is the entire basic description of what happens in the chapter, and as always the chapter is kind of important to the overall feel of the story. Of course there's the information of the dead girls, and the emails. Plus it's all a part of the build up to the end.

Chapter four, 3 November

Wow I waited so long to actually get around to adding more to this, and for some strange reason I feel bad about it.....

OK, I am talking about chapter four today. And that's the chapter that were Claire Growls at her sister, and where the second girl Holly goes missing. Now the whole chapter is actually important in many ways, as I will point out in a very boring and professional manner.

One: Holly is the second girl going missing, so it makes it more of a pattern. People question whether or not there is something going on, two girls in about a week, a bit suspicious if you ask me (Does shifty eyes).

Second: When Emily, Claire's sister annoys her to the point where Claire wants to throttle her, she instead growls at her. And I don't mean the normal human growl, I mean predatory and completely scary kind of growl. And even though she dismisses it, we obviously know that she is in serious denial. This is one of the main points to lead up to her realising her half werewolf state, so yes it is very important to the story.

Third: the dream. Claire has a very vivid dream containing werewolves who seem to be protecting her, when a vampire comes in and uses his pull to make her go to him, and she leaves the circle. This dream kind of brings things that may or may not be brought into the story at a later date, so it's importance is there.

With that being said, I will leave you with the dream extract from chapter four. I have been told that it's good, but if there is anyone reading this, please tell me if it's ridiculous and stupid lol.

Images of a place I knew that I had never seen before brushed through my mind. There were lots of trees, but not the kind of tree’s that you really found in Australia, they look more like something in a Hollywood movie. The traditional movie forest, and as I began to trek further into it, I could see shapes appear among the tree lines.
They were all the same colour, and they were all beautiful to look at. There fur was white with a tinge of a bluish grey, and they all had gleaming pale eyes, some silver some blue. I was so caught up in the beauty of them that I didn’t think at all to be scared, and something deep inside me told me that they wouldn’t hurt me.
Slowly they began to move out from the tree’s crowding me in a circle, but not in a predatory way, because in the circle, I felt safe. Like they were protecting me from something, they were making sure that they had me covered.
One of the wolves came forward, his head bent down, a clear sign that he was posing no threat to me. And without hesitation I let my hands run through the fur of his neck, letting the softness of him calm any worries I might have had. His muzzle nudged my knee, and I knew that he was showing me that he was a friend, though I had already known that.“There’s no need.” I told him in a calm voice. “I know you’d never hurt me.”
Though his face couldn’t make an expression, I knew that he was smiling at what I had said. And then I heard a voice in my head. Your trust is all I have ever wanted from you. I knew it was him, and it brought a smile to my lips.
“You have always had it.” I replied never once letting my hands leave his fur.
I was so caught up in the wolves that I was startled when a sound resounded outside of the circle. Immediately the wolves began to growl, their heads bending down, indicating to the intruder that they were not welcome.
“You think you can protect her.” The voice said, sounding as cocky and arrogant as anyone ever could.“You think for a second that if I wanted her, you would be able to stop me.
That was when I felt the pull, something telling me to walk forward, to leave the circle. My feet even began to move, but I felt his muzzle brush my hand, and I stopped. My mind cleared, and I took a step back in the safety of the circle.
“She will come to me.” The voice said again, and then I felt the pull. It was stronger than the last time, and I knew if I didn’t run that I would be pulled to him, that nothing would stop me from going to him.
Without a hesitation I turned, and I began to run. I could the wolves behind me howling at me, telling me without words to come back, but I couldn’t. There was no safety with them now, not when he could enter my mind.
So I ran, and I ran, until I ran into something solid and warm. I looked up and met the dark eyes, my heart beating faster as I realised that I was done fro. That I should have known that I could never get away from him.
“You shouldn’t have run.” He whispered, his voice captivating me in a way I hadn’t known was possible.
In one quick motion he had me on the ground, one hand curled around my neck, and I couldn’t’ find the will to do anything about it. It was almost as if I didn’t care. And I tried to fight it, I tried to fight the way he made me feel, but I just couldn’t. There was a small part of me that wanted him, that needed him. And the glow of that thought I brought my lips up to meet his.
He must have been expecting it, because it didn’t in the leats surprised by my bold movement. And kissed me back, with expertise and fervour in magnitude. My whole body was tingling with the contact.
“You should have remembered that you were mine.” He whispered softly as he pulled away.
I couldn’t respond I just lay there dazed, unable to think about anything other than that completely amazing kiss that we had just shared, and how I wished I could have given him more.
He laughed as if he had heard my thoughts and lightly kissed my neck. For a moment I didn’t know what he was going to do. Was he going to kiss me again? Or was he going to leave?
It seemed I didn’t have to wait too long for the answer as he reeled back his head, then leant back down for my throat. This time he didn’t kiss it, and I felt a sharp pang of pain before.....

Hope you enjoyed... until next time....

Chapter three, 18th October

Ok from now on this will mostly be about my story Victory for dinner, and the road to getting it published.

So for now I will tell you about the chapter I just finished writing. It's chapter three, and it's basically the chapter in which Claire first sees Devlynn. It's also her first day back at school after being attacked by a dog. So she has missed the hype of the new guy, who on the first day ends up talking to a girl named Hannah, much to Claire's dismay, as Devlynn reminds her of her fave TV character Tristan (Who just so happens to be a vampire). This is also the chapter that she first has a weird reaction to his smell, and thinks that something must be wrong with her. And that's basically it. The introduction of Devlynn, and the start to all the fun!!!

If you have any questions about the story, or any ideas as to what I can do to improve it, or something interesting to do with the plot or the story, I would be so happy for your help.

My life is the same as always, but maybe writing this can make me feel accomplished...

Saturday, 10 October '09, 3:45pm

Is today the same as tomorrow....

Hmmm what's interesting that I can even write down, something worth while, that wont send someone of to sleep just to look at.

Well, I can talk about seeing my niece yesterday, who is looking more gorgeous every single time that I look at her. She is just so little and sweet, even if she does have one hell of a scream on her. I don't think I have ever heard a baby scream that loud, and I have heard quite a few babies screaming.

Today I didn't really do much. Apart from talking to my sister, and looking after my other niece, and my nephew. My morning wasn't necessarily boring, just not exactly productive in anyway. And considering I don't really do anything most days, it would be nice for things to change just a little bit.

So what I will talk about is my story. So far I have one and a half chapter written. I wrote the first chapter yesterday,or the day before. which to put simply, it a sum up of Claire's life. We meet her family and her friends, as well as a little about her past and the things that have happened to her.

There is a little thing in there which I hadn't actually originally planned on putting in there, but the character just kind of wrote it in herself. Which I know sounds weird, but sometimes when your writing the character is telling you what to write. Well not literally, but as your writing this come together because your in that characters mind, and that's what feels right.

So what happened was, I added in an ex-boyfriend who basically used Claire and kind of broke her heart. He was her first proper boyfriend and so it was pretty serious for her, even though she is only young.

I also introduce some of her frenemies, which is you don't know, are people who you don't really consider friends, but you still talk to. Your on good speaking terms, but you don't necessarily like them. And also the bane of her existence Drake Saunders, who just loves t irritate Claire whenever he gets the chance.

Unfortunately Devlynn doesn't come into the story until the third chapter, and I am only on the second. Which is all about Claire being bitten and going half werewolf. So I will probably have more to say when I finally get on to writing Devlynn, who I am loving with all his evilness, I know he's going to be an exciting character to write.

Now, I think that that is all hat is important left to write. I don't have any plans left for tonight, except for seeing my little niece again. but who knows maybe tomorrow I will blow you away with an epic tale of love and betrayal, but then again, maybe not.

Until then....

Friday, 9th October, '09, 11:30am

Procrastination is the key to my life...

There is nothing to really say except I must be the laziest person. I didn't get around to actually writing on her in like, what, two days. The first day I didn't write it was more that there were too many people around for me to concentrate, and then it was a case of I had to work all yesterday and then go to a staff meeting last night.

Basically work was the same as it always was. Nothing too exciting happened, but at the same time it wasn't too bad. It could have been incredibly boring or something, but for the most part I was kept busy by customers or unpacking stock, or putting stuff away. There was always something to do.

Then later that day it was the staff meeting. That was basically all about Jacaranda coming up, and needing to find a theme for the store. I think we settled on a Halloween theme, mainly because there so much you can do with that that relates to stuff like Twilight which all the young girls seem to be in love with.

The rest of the meeting was more or less stuff that I don't think is really interesting enough o write down here; well not without accidentally putting someone to sleep anyway.

That was all the time between the last time I wrote and this time, which I am sure seems like a pretty uneventful life, which I would have to agree with you on. There was one good moment, and that was when I went to baby Jordan, who is still so gorgeous and just so cute when she is sleeping. That definitely made up for any of the boringness of my life.

If anything interesting wants to come to my town, don't hesitate we really need something to make life a little less dull. I am awaiting the moment when something weird happens, and I can investigate lol, or maybe not.

A new job wouldn't be too bad, except that there isn't really anything out there right now. I was pretty lucky to get the one that I have now. I think I just want something a little more exciting, something that will make everything seem new and vibrant. Maybe something were I get to work nights. well maybe nights without Vampire diaries or Glee lol.

One can hope that these things will come, I mean something has to happen eventually...right?

Tuesday, 6th October '09, 6:52pm

Each day can bring brilliant wonders...

Today I got the most amazing thing! My sister gave birth to a baby girl, who is now named Jordan. Now I know it might seem like it's been said before, but she really is an unbelievably gorgeous baby, looking a lot like her mum.

That is pretty much the most exciting thing that one can expect to happen, because babies just really are the most beautiful things. Thinking that they spent nine months growing inside someones tummy, it really is proof of miracles. And now I have two wonderful nieces, and one crazy but adorable nephew.

Apart from that I haven't really done anything more than go to physie, which for those who don't know is a type of dancing that you will find in New South Wales and Queensland in Australia. It's really a combination of different styles of dancing mixed together in ways that are designed to stretch and gain balance and coordination. I have currently been doing it for ten years, and my team has one five years in a row at the zone championships, and then placed in Sydney.

That was as it always is, and there isn't really much more to say about it.

Oh, yesterday afternoon we had a big hail storm in my town. The backyard was covered with white balls of hail, which from a distance looked just like snow, which is funny because it has never snowed in my town. It was really cool and I think I took like a million photos.

My not too smart brother, who had gone on a ride on his motorbike, instead of being smart enough to pull over or something when it hit, rid through the whole thing. I swear I have no idea how the two of us could be related, but unfortunately we are.

Now on to my new story. I wrote the prologue last night, and so far I really really love it. I would post that much here, but I don't really plan on ruining it for people who want to read it all for themselves. The date on it is actually a hundred per cent right. I went back in the calender in my phone to 1901 and looked up what day January the 5th fell on. I had no idea that my phone could go back that far, and actually I am now really curious as to how far I can go back. I might do an experiment with that one of these days.

Well, that is my day, and my yesterday afternoon. I hope that it wasn't too boring, because I felt like stuff actually happened, which for me is really weird. Sometimes my life feels like it's stuck in a constant state of monotony which I just can't seem to get out of.

So that's where I am, waiting for something to happen, and thinking about vampires... I guess that's normal when I am writing a story about them. It would be kind of cool if they were real, as random as that was.

Till tomorrow...
